This is very informative ! usually leather has an authentic smell and splurging on a handbag or a pair of shoes is really worth it!

Is it terrible I’m not sure how to know the difference?? Is it even worse that i don’t even check?!?! Its not a fabric I have a lot of knowledge in to be far. This was quite insightful my dear thank you xxx

I admittedly assume that just because something is expensive, it must be really good quality. Whilst for the most part that can be true, I have learnt that it is not always the case for leather. Researching this article was really insightful for me as well.
Generally, real leather will not feel super smooth. You can almost see the bumps and grains. Like the image of the shoes I took, the first one is real and the second behind it is not.
It is not terrible that you don’t know or don’t check, because I do not believe that many people do. But it is definitely something to be aware of right. Thank you for reading! xxx

See in my mind this makes sense! The more I fork out the better it will be…. But sometimes you need to do your homework and be cute about it for sure now a days!
I loved this post, real food for thought defiantly! I’m a smeller to so as long as it smells good I’m like I want!! I wonder does the smell help you figure it out?!?! Thats something ill have to look into that! xxx

When it comes to leather, if you can smell chemicals, generally it means that it is not real. Leather has quite an authentic smell. I suppose it is one way to suss out whether a designer bag is real or not!
It was really interesting to research. it has made me think twice. It happens across the board – we assume expensive means quality right. xxx

I purchased a Chloé bag two years ago, used it to death and it STILL smells of leather and hasn’t denatured or changed shape at all. I say invest 100%

I also believe in investing in staple pieces. I always spend more on shoes and bags, also coats. I feel like those things need to look good quality and fancy, because they change every outfit. I think that leather shoes are the best way to go, just because they are more comfortable. With bags, they don’t have to be leather, because they can get damaged super easily. xx

I agree; shoes, bags and coats are definitely staple pieces that you should invest in, if you have the opportunity too. I now disagree about the leather handbags though. My sister invested in a leather one that is quite expensive, but it has lasted so well. It looks brand new still. She has had to learn how to take care of it though. I do get what you mean though. Thank you for reading!! xx
