I am super excited to have received this Marc Jacobs makeup invitation through my post from Influenster. It is to sample their velvet noir volume mascara.
Upon glancing, I instantly fell in love with the makeup on the front cover. Although I hate wearing bright gold on myself, I felt inspired to create something similar and came up with this.
By the time I took these photos, the lighting was cloudy and I could not really capture the shades as how they looked in life (brighter and more bold). In addition, my makeup could have benefited from some quick touch-ups. Overall however, I am really pleased with the outcome of this look.
It is a very glamorous way to use autumnal colours without feeling the need to apply a berry or red lip.
It did require patience to gradually build up my crease. I used pink blushers with plum, amber and dark brown shadows
As much as I adore the various hues from this look as well as the experimenting, my eyes were not emphasised as best they could be. A tired appearance reflected back at me in the mirror and so I really needed a thick line of eyeliner to just provide definition.
Masking tape stuck either side of my eyes to create my eyeshadow flicks. My fall-out savior otherwise my cheeks would be coated in pigment.
For my skin, I used a cream highlighter and put on double layers of concealer. I really wanted my skin as flawless as possible so that my eyes are the main focus.
I will not wear this look daily but it is really pretty and easily adaptable for each person. So this is my autumn beauty inspiration for the month.
Do you use Marc Jacobs makeup and would you create this Marc Jacobs makeup look on yourself?
