Free The Tipple — Kickass cocktails inspired by iconic women
This is the prettiest and most inspiring cocktail book on the market. Besides the 60 recipes for fun cocktails, you also receive a biography of influential women of the 20th century. The book covers a diverse mix of people, from fashion, art, politics, science and literature.
Each recipe reflects its namesake’s style, legacy or personality. So Beyonce has a lemonade-infused drink while Coco Chanel has elegant champagne.
What I really love is that rather than asking for a pina colada or a cosmopolitan, I can ask for Cher or Rihanna. The book is in a convenient size so it’s easy to store or fit on your bookshelf.
Grace & Stella Rainbow Bath Bomb
Bath bombs are the kind of thing you buy based on how they look without thinking too much about what they contain. But this Rainbow Bath Bomb is made with nourishing ingredients like shea butter, coconut, argan and olive oil. It’s also cruelty-free and vegan.
It can improve sleep quality, soothe muscle aches and moisturise skin so it doesn’t feel dry when you’ve spent too long in the bath. I’m a big fan of the cloud shape and love the rainbow colours.
King C. Gillette Style Master
This tool is designed to trim, shave and edge hair to create an individual look. Whether you like stubble or smooth shaven, the Gillette Style Master has four cutting elements and three symmetrical combs to cater to your style.
The shaver also has a 360° handle and pivoting head which helps reach tricky areas like under the nose and around the mouth. It’s waterproof, and fully metal for durability, with a run time of 45 minutes. I like that it’s compact size makes it easy to store and travel with.
Bowe Organics Lip Rescue Balm
Bowe Organics creates vegan, ethically sourced, luxury skincare. It’s registered with the Vegan Society, which means no animal products are used in manufacturing, and there is no animal testing. Each product is handmade in small batches using high quality, natural ingredients.
This Lip Balm won the 2021 Free From Skincare Awards. It’s a bit of a buzzword in the beauty industry to say ‘a little goes along way’ but this couldn’t be more true with this balm. With no harsh, cheap ingredients, the product moisturises your lips with shea butter, raspberry seed oil, cocoa butter and almond oil.
As a stocking gift, the balm comes wrapped in a cute cracker with a self-care quote.
LED Colour Changing Portable Table Lamp
This is a gift anyone would appreciate — but especially book aficionados and people who work from home. 4Lite’s LED lamp can be used outdoors, on a bedside table, and in a home office. It’s super lightweight and portable with no wires to worry about.
You can choose from 256 colors — increase the intensity and brightness of the white light, or opt for a colour such as blue or red. When reading at night or writing on my laptop, adjusting the lamp’s intensity helps me stay focused.
Because the lamp is LED, no bulbs are required. You can enjoy 12 hours use between charges — the product arrives with a USB wire for charging. I chose the white colour but it’s also available in black.
Secret Identity Board Game
Recently, I’ve discovered how much I enjoy board games. Plus, with family gatherings over Christmas, they really come in handy. Secret Identity feels like an advanced version of the iconic ‘Guess Who?’ but with picto cards.
Each player is given a key card with their identity. Using picto cards, you must all guess each other’s characters while also giving clues to who you are. Each success earns you a point, with the winner receiving the most points after the fourth round.
I have only played this with my boyfriend. It’s been a lot of fun, so I’m looking forward to playing it over the holidays with more people.
Prezzee Smart eGift Card
Prezzee is a company committed to making gift cards fun and personal. You can choose from hundreds of retailers or opt for the Prezzee Smart eGift Card which can be swapped for 190+ top brands. So, rather than being sent a Marks & Spencer’s or John Lewis card, you can leave it up to the receiver to decide which company to use. You’ll find luxury and high-street brands, restaurants, travel companies, and everything in between.
To personalise, the Smart eGift card can be sent with a video, photo and message. You can also choose a design for them to unwrap. The card is valid for two years and is available in the US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand — double-check the card location before purchasing.
Critically Endangered Socks
The older you get, the more you appreciate socks as a gift. This pair is extra special because the brand supports endangered animals. 10% of every sale is donated to WWF — they’ve already raised over £17,000.
The brand also prioritises sustainability with 85% of the material being GOTS certified organic cotton. This material makes them soft and comfy.
You can choose from different animals including dolphins, turtles, snow leopards and orangutans. As pink is my favourite colour and I love elephants, I chose the Sumatran elephant pair. The socks come with a card that shares a fun fact and highlights your support by purchasing from Critically Endangered. Plus, each pair is packaged in a bespoke recycled cardboard box.
7th Heaven Pamper Hamper Gift Set
Every Christmas, I usually receive one of these masks in a stocking or as a small treat next to my main present. They’re a classic beauty item — probably one of the first masks I used and still effective.
This skincare set includes 9 face masks, a hair mask and a body puff. There is a fun selection to choose from like a cucumber peel-off mask, pink rose clay, tea tree peel-off and charcoal mud. They also accommodate for different skin types. I love all the different options because one mask rarely works. I like that you can moisturise, detox, or minimise pores.
